Urban waste management requires correct, efficient handling in order to optimise collection and transportation. In Smart Cities this factor stands out as one of the key problems that needed to be solved. The sensor is equipped to provide information in real time of the volume in recycling bins. It also enables collection routes to be optimised or alert Municipal Services if a bin is filled to capacity. Every product of the Urbiotica family is designed to satisfy all users at each stage of its life cycle, the person in charge of the installation being the most important user.
The sensor is installed from the top cover of the container so the installer is free from any contact inside with the items to be recycled. It is housed partly on the interior, while the communication part remains on the exterior to transmit data efficiently to the Mesh network.
Due to the fact that recycling bins are frequently vandalized or treated roughly, the sensor requires a stronger structure. The body and cover are made of painted polyamide 66 and are impact IK10, UV and humidity resistant.
